Title:  Total/NNPC National Merit Scholarship Scheme 2017/2018

Description
The programme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and quality manpower development in the Country. This is one of the many ways TOTAL demonstrates its commitment to the educational development of Nigerian students. It is a part of NNPC/TOTAL’s rich Corporate Social Responsibility.This scholarship scheme has been successfully carried out over the years. The 2017/2018 is due and this web portal is dedicated to receiving applications from eligible Nigerian undergraduates.

Eligibility

To qualify for consideration, the applicant MUST:
  • Be a Registered FULL TIME undergraduate in a recognized Nigerian University
  • Be a certified 100 or 200 level student at the time of application
  • Show proof of Admission letter from the University and Matriculation Number
  • Show proof of A-level or Equivalent Certificate (for direct entry students)
  • Show proof of SSCE or Equivalent Certificate.
  • Show proof of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) score.
IMPORTANT:
  • Students with less than 200 score in UTME need not apply
  • Students with less than 2.50 CGPA of 5-point scale, or equivalent
  • 300 level students and above need not apply
  • Current beneficiaries of similar awards from the oil industry need not apply

  • Origin: Enter your state and local government of origin data. You are required to upload a certificate or proof of origin from your local government or state.
  • University Information: Select your university, course and year of study. You will be required to upload your JAMB/University admission letter.
  • Result Information: Input your JAMB score or CPGA. You are required to upload your JAMB statement of result and university CPGA. For year two medical students, your JAMB score suffices.
  • Review Application: Review your application ensure all fields have been correctly entered. Upload all the documents required:
    • Recent Passport Photograph
    • Certificate or Proof of Origin
    • Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE)
    • UTME result
    • JAMB/University Admission Letter
    • 1st Year Result showing CGPA

  • Selection tests will hold on December 2, 2017 at designated centers nationwide which will be communicated to shortlisted candidates only.

2017 MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme

The MTN Nigeria Foundation Limited by Guarantee (MTNF Ltd/Gte) was established by MTN Nigeria
Communications Limited in July 2004 to drive MTN Nigeria’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives aimed at improving the quality of lives in communities across the country.

MTN Nigeria Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship Scheme (8th Phase)

Project Description
  • Since inception of the Scheme, MTNF has invested N1,690,800,000 in the scholarships to date
  • The scholarship award is worth N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira only) per student for the duration of one academic year and covers tuition, textbook allowance and stipend.
  • Application for the 2017/2018 session is now open and the scholarship had connected +2700 people by vision and excellence. Project Description
  • The MTNF Scholarship Scheme for Blind Students (SSBS) is aimed at recognizing and rewarding academic excellence while providing financial assistance to blind students who might otherwise be unable to pay for their tertiary education.
  • Since inception of the Scheme in 2012, MTNF has invested N150,000,000 in the scholarships to date
  • The scholarship award is worth N200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira only) per student for the duration of one academic year and covers tuition, textbook allowance and stipend.
  • Application for the 2017/2018 session is now open and the scholarship had connected +370 people by vision and excellence. In addition, scholarships Will also be renewed for the existing students who have maintained a minimum of 2.5 for universities and colleges of education and 2.0 for polytechnic students.
Eligibility
  • Students of a public tertiary institutions, who are dependent on Braille
  • 2nd or 3rd year full-time undergraduates in public universities and colleges of education studying other disciplines beside Law with Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5.
  • 3rd year full time Law under-graduates in public University with CGPA of 2.5.
  • Full time Polytechnic under-graduates in ND 2, HND 2, with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 and with one of the following:
    • ND 1 result (for applicants currently in ND 2)
    • HND 1 result (for applicants currently in HND 2)
    • Admission letter into HND 1 with ND 2 result (for applicants currently in HND 1)

"Streets to School" Project



With a 2017 Q2 projected population of over 188 million people, Nigeria remains the most populous country in Africa. However, over the last decade, the country’s exponential growth in population has put immense pressure on its resources and on already overstretched public services and infrastructure...no thanks to decades of corruption - a very unfortunate situation whose effect is borne by over 10 million innocent children of primary school age, most of whom take to the streets for self-survival.

According to the US Department of state, only LESS than one-third of Nigerian primary school students will proceed to secondary schools and the top two factors influencing primary school drop-out in Nigeria are Monetary cost (32%) and Insufficient interest (26%). Eradicating these two remain the objectives of the 'Streets to school' project launched by www.scholarship-nigeria.com (founded in 2009) which has up till now focused on providing entrepreneurial / scholarship support,guidance and information services across all levels of the society.

The Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) Joint Venture in pursuance of its Corporate Social Responsibility invites suitably qualified applicants for its 2016/2017 Session Tertiary Scholarship Scheme, effective from 11th September to 29th September, 2017.

Category of Awards
  • Host Communities Merit Award – For applicants strictly from NAOC Host Communities
  • National Merit Award – For applicants from Non-Host communities
To qualify for consideration, applicants MUST be:

2018/2019 Czech Government Scholarships - Undergraduate, Masters and Doctorate

The Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport offers five scholarships for developing countries. Applications for these scholarships are open to all students from developing countries and/or countries going through a process of political and economic transition.

 This scholarship is to be taken in Public Universities in Czech Republic

Eligible Programmes: Full-time Undergraduate, Masters and Doctorate


Eligible Fields: Economics, Agriculture, Informatics, Environment and Energetics at public universities in the Czech Republic.

These Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study plus one-year preparatory course of the Czech language(which is combined with other field-specific training).

Benefits of these Scholarships: 
  • The scholarship covers the necessary costs related to staying and studying in the Czech Republic. The scholarship amount is regularly amended.
  • Currently the amount paid to students on a Bachelor’s, Master’s or follow-up Master’s study programme stands at CZK 14,000 per month
  • Whereas the amount paid to students of a Doctoral study programme stands at CZK 15,000 per month.
The above scholarship amounts include an amount designated for the payment of accommodation costs. Costs of accommodation, food and public transport are covered by scholarship holders from the scholarship under the same conditions that apply to students who are citizens of the Czech Republic. Should health services exceeding standard care be required by the student, s/he shall cover them at his/her own cost.

2017 Lagos Business School (LBS) Young Talent Program

The LBS Young Talents’ Programme is offering a one-day opportunity to undergraduates who are in their final year university studies. M.Sc students and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members are also welcome.



The purpose of the one-day programme is to help the school establish an ongoing relationship with the brightest university students in the country prior to and after their graduation from the university. The primary objective of engaging with these talented students is to expose them to a world-class institution and short list suitable candidates for the LBS Management Scholarship Academy. We will also welcome candidates that could become future administrative staff and ultimately faculty members. This programme would help the school build a pipeline of bright academics for the African continent.

Type of Award: Short Courses/Training

Eligibility Criteria:
  • The candidate should not be above 30years old.
  • The programme is open to undergraduates, Masters and Youth Corp members
  • These students should be on a first class or second class upper.
  • Previous participants of the YTP are not eligible to apply again.
Benefits of the Award: The LBS Young Talents’ Programme will:

The David Oyedepo Foundation OneWorld Merit scholarship award is our major platform for promoting the Foundation’s vision and goals.

About DOF OneWorld Merit Scholarship
This course-specific scholarship, which grants New and Returning students the opportunity to study in select top-rated Nigerian universities seeks to develop youth leaders who are ready to put their learned skills to work in leading organizations, communities and their local countries. In addition to maintaining a high academic standard and demonstrating a commitment to continuous capacity development as leaders, students on this scholarship would be expected to carry out a community development project and would be expected to work in a social impact driven organization each summer for a 6-week period as a volunteer under standard work conditions.

Eligibility: The scholarships are open to New and Returning Student categories who are citizens and residents of African Countries. The David Oyedepo Foundation OneWorld Merit Scholarship Award is open to Young Africans who:
  1. Are eligible to commence undergraduate studies in 2017.
  2. Are citizens and permanent residents of any African Nation
  3. Are eligible to receive a Nigerian student visa
  4. Are proficient in oral and written English
  5. New Student Application: Have a record of exceptional performance at the secondary school level which is benchmarked by:
    • a. At least 20 points above JAMB cut off points (for Nigerians only)
    • b. 80% recorded average or 4.0GPA/5.0 in Secondary/High School Transcript
    • c. 5 Distinction pass-grades (As and Bs) in Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examinations.
  6. New Student Application: Already have begun admission applications to Covenant or Landmark University (Scholarships would not be awarded until proof of admission to Landmark University is provided at the end of the competition).
  7. Returning Student Application: Have a record of exceptional performance which is benchmarked by:
    • 1 st Class CGPA (4.5 on a 5.0 scale) in recently concluded session for students in Covenant or Landmark Universities.
    • 2nd Class Upper CGPA (4.3 on a 5.0 scale) in recently concluded session for students in other universities.
  8. Are in good health.
Selection Criteria: Scholars must meet set DOF criteria in order for the scholarship to be renewed at the commencement of each new session.
  • Maintain 1st class CGPA at the end of each session.
  • Volunteer for 6 weeks in an organization committed to social impact during the long summer holiday.
  • Carry out a community development project each year which can occur at any time during the year but must be in the scholar’s local community.
  • Participate in “Books of the Summer” program.
  • Maintain a high standard of character in line with the University’s requirement throughout duration of study within and outside the school premises.

 The scholarship is for 4 or 5 years (subject to the university’s stipulated time for course completion).

Win N50,000 in 2017 NWAG Scholarship for Female Undergraduates

In 2017, NWAG plans to award 37 one-time scholarships, one per state of origin as well as one for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in the amount of fifty thousand Naira (N50,000) each, to Nigerian female, undergraduate students in Nigerian universities.
Worth of Scholarship: Fifty thousand naira (N50,000) each
Requirements: An applicant must be a Nigerian female, undergraduate student in a Nigerian University. All applications must include the following:
  • Proof of State of Origin – Letter of Origination from the university or a letter from your local government office.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation from any two of the following: Church Pastor/Mosque Imam, Village Head, Local Government Chairperson or one of your Lecturers.
  • One Letter of Recommendation from either the Dean of your Faculty/School or your Head of Department.
  • Photocopy of your current university student identification card
  • A current photograph of yourself
  • An explanation of why you need and should receive the scholarship (not more than one-half typed double spaced page).
  • A type-written, double –spaced, two-page essay on:
 “How has the current inflation and its resultant high cost of living in Nigeria, affected the quality of education in Nigeria?”

Description

  • We are aiming to select young Nigerian scholars for the 2017/2018 academic year Masters program in Engineering and Sciences (Oil & Gas related) in France.
  • Successful students will be sponsored to study in one of the programmes in the Schools listed below:
IFP School
  • Specialized Master in Petroleum Geosciences (12 months of classes and 4 month internship)
  • Specialized Master in Reservoir Geoscience and Engineering (12 months of classes and 4 month internship)
  • Specialized Master in Processes and Polymers (12 months of classes and 6 month internship)
  • Specialized Master in Petroleum Economics and Management (11 months of classes and 4-6 month internship)
  • Specialized Master in Petroleum Data Management (11 months of classes and 4-6 month internship)
Ecole des Mines de Nantes
  • Master in Project Management for Environmental and Energy Engineering (PM3E) (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)
Ecole Centrale de Nantes
  • Master of Engineering in Computational Mechanics (MN CM) (4 academic semesters)
  • Master of Engineering in Design of Systems and Products (GM CSP) (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)
  • Master of Engineering in Materials, Processes and Technology of Composites (GM MPTC) (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)
  • Master of Engineering in Automatic control, Signal and Image (ARIA ASI) (4 academic semesters)
Institut Supérieur d’Électronique de Paris (ISEP)
  • Master in wireless telecommunication and IoT systems (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)
INSA Toulouse
  • Master in Fluids Engineering for Industrial Processes (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)
Ecole Polytechnique
  • Master in Energy Environment: Science Technology and Management (STEEM) (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)
Université Paris Saclay
  • Master Renewable Energy Science & Technology (REST) (3 academic semesters and 6-month internship)

Candidate Profile
  • Only Nigerian nationals are eligible to apply
  • Students should have graduated between 2013 and 2016
  • Must hold a first degree with at least Second class upper division relevant to the fields defined above
  • Must have completed 1(one) year mandatory NYSC programme
