The Embassy of France in Nigeria has initiated a scholarship scheme to sponsor 5 Nigerians abroad every year.
In a statement in Abuja, the French Ambassador to Nigeria Jacques Champagne de Labriolle said the scheme was based on the need to contribute to the training of Nigerians in different fields and the country’s education sector.
The international scholarship scheme which is in collaboration with Total Nigeria Plc, is worth about 54,000 Euros per student.
The statement noted that the Joint Scholarship Scheme (‘TQJS’) titled “Total E &P Nigeria Ltd. (TEPNG) /Quai d’ Orsay” would take effect from the 2012/2013 academic session.
However, the pilot stage of the scheme had commenced last year with one candidate sponsored to study International Law in France.

ReplyDeleteit is a pity that all the scholarship award advertised none is interested in teacher education. why do u complain that education in Nigeria is poor, when u do not invest in teacher education. note that in the nearest future there will be teacher scarcity in Nigeria and the engineers and doctors you sponsor will not teach poor Nigerian children mathematics and basic science in public schools. noc_zerro@yahoo.com
