ReplyDeletepls let the organizers of this scholarship consider people in OPTOMETRY. I am really very surprised to see DENTISTRY, without seeing OPTOMETRY. Pls OPTOMETRY is the study of the eyes, while DENTISTRY is the study of the teeth. It is almost the same thing, pls consider us.
ReplyDeleteThis is a unwise comment. Dentistry and Optometry are two very different things. Those of us Studying medicine and Surgery and those in dentistry are in the same class until 300 Level. So Shut up. And You studying Optometry is not going to be Address as "Doctor".
DeleteNo offence, but Optometry can't be compared with Dentistry, Dentistry is similar to Medicine except in area of specialisations, Dentistry and Medicine both have surgery arms, I don't think optometry is associated with surgery, Dentistry and Medicine are under the same ruling body i.e NMDA, they are both 6yrs and after the whole study period, graduates from both courses are inducted as ' Doctors' , the degrees are also different BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is for Dentistry, MB;BS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) is for Medicine, Bsc is for Optometry, and there are many other things. P.s I'm not a Dental student, I'm a Medical student.
ReplyDeleteYou are just an ignorant bufoon. And u dont know that optometrists are also inducted as doctors. With ur moronic intellect you dont know that optometry degree is OD.Doctor of optometry. If u dont know something y dont you shut up instead of spreading ignorance.
DeletePoint of correction pls,Optometry degree in Nigeria is award as DOCTOR OF Optometry not Bsc.If u are a medical student in Nigeria u should have know that for the past 20yrs Optometrist have always been referred to as Drs,expect u are talking of Opticians which is another discipline.Optometrist also have their own board too registered and also under ministry of health, n also health services dept.Don't just comment on wat u don't know about.
ReplyDeleteStop giving yourself unnecessary titles. You are not going to be addressed as a Doctor.
Delete@adeyeye, its rude to tell sm1 to 'shut up',its completely inane to argue blindly and ignorantly...u ar not d one offering d scholarship so y do u take up d struggle...post ur own comment and leave d response to d page admin..hush
DeleteOptometry also have surgical arm which is Ophthalmology.Optometry is also 6yrs,1yr interns, then NYSC.check out NUC for info before u make such comments
