2014 AGBAMI SCHOLARSHIP

Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, a Chevron company and operator of the Agbami Field, in its continuous support for capacity building in the Health and Engineering sectors as a strategic feed into the national manpower pool, is offering a number of University Scholarships to qualified Nigerian students from ALL states of the Federation.

The scholarship program, funded by Star Deep and its Agbami partners, is a major component of the Agbami partners' Social Investment in the strategic development of Health and Education in Nigeria and the Niger Delta in particular.

 REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY

Applications are invited from FULL-TIME, 100 and 200 level undergraduates from any state of the Federation, studying any of the under listed courses in universities within Nigeria:
  • Medicine/Surgery
  • Dentistry
  • Pharmacy
  • Engineering

2014/2015 NNPC/CHEVRON JV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Chevron Nigeria Limited, in collaboration with its Joint Venture partner, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), is offering a number of University Scholarship Awards to suitably qualified Nigerian students.

REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY:

E-applications are invited from full-time SECOND YEAR (200 LEVEL) degree students of the under-listed courses, in Nigerian Universities:

NDDC Foreign Scholarship Program - 2014

INTRODUCTION

As part of our Human Resource Development initiative, NDDC is embarking on Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme to equip Niger Deltans with relevant training and skills for effective participation in the local content programme of the current administration as well as compete globally in various professional fields. The Scheme is for suitably qualified applicants with relevant Bachelor's/Master's Degrees from recognized Universities in the following professional disciplines:
  • Engineering
  • Medicine (M.sc. Public Health Excluded)
  • Computer Science/Technology
  • Geology
  • Geosciences
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Agriculture
Applicants must have gained Post Graduate admission into a recognized university abroad.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • First Degree with minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division for those  wishing to undertake a master’s Degree programme and a good Master’s Degree for PhD candidates from a recognized University.
  • Applicants must have gained Admission into a Post Graduate Programme in any of the listed disciplines in a foreign University.
  • Applicants who have not already enrolled in overseas' universities are not eligible to apply.
  • Bond of good conduct from any of the following persons from the applicant’s community/clan.
  • a. Member of National Assembly
  • b. Chairman of the LGA.
  • c. First class traditional ruler.
  • d. High Court Judge
  • Persons with evidence of cult membership or criminal record shall not be considered for the award.
  • Applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service
MODE OF APPLICATION
Application must be made On-line at the Commission’s website: ( www.nddc.gov.ng) with the following attachments:
  • Recent passport photograph
  • Local Government identification letter.
  • Post Graduate (PG) admission letter from Oversea Universities.
  • Relevant degrees from recognized Universities.
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate

  1. Successfully completed applications will be assigned a registration number automatically.
  2. Print the hard copy of the on-line generated acknowledgement for ease of reference.
  3. All shortlisted applicants will be posted on NDDC website.

2014 SPDC Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) announces the fifth annual SPDC Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme for applicants from Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa States.

The objective of the scheme is to provide an opportunity for qualifying students from these Niger Delta States to further their education in courses that are relevant to the oil and gas industry.
In the four years since the programme was launched 40 students have benefitted from the opportunity to study at world-renowned institutions.
SPDC will award 10 scholarships for one-year M.Sc studies in partnership with three universities in the UK—Imperial College London, University College, London and the University of Leeds for the academic year commencing September 2014.

UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS     
  • MSc EXPLORATION GEOPHYSICS
  • MSc ELECTRONIC/ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
  • display intellectual ability and leadership potential
  • meet the University’s English language requirements (usually at least 6.5 in IELTS or equivalent TOEFL score valid for Sept 2014, admission)
  • be between 21-28 years by 30/09/2014
  • be indigenes of Rivers, Delta or Bayelsa States (proof of this will be required)
  • currently reside in Nigeria
  • return and take up permanent residence in Nigeria after completion of the proposed programme of study
  • have obtained a university degree equivalent to a UK Second Class Upper (Honours Degree) at a minimum
  • not have studied previously in the UK or any other developed country
  • have a valid Nigerian passport valid till December, 2015
  • be neither current nor former employees (who have left employment less than 5 years before) of SPDC, the Royal Dutch Shell Group of Companies or Karamat Ltd (copied from www.scholarship-nigeria.com)
  • not be a spouse, child or ward of staff of Shell Companies in Nigeria or Karamat Ltd.
Application Process
  • Submit application for admission to the respective university for any of the qualifying courses
  • Application forms for the scholarship will ONLY be available through the websites of the participating universities following an offer of admission
  • Universities will process applications and select candidates to attend an interview with a Consultant before being considered for final selection
  • Completed scholarship application forms must reach participating universities not later than January 24, 2014.
The scholarship will cover tuition fees, one return flight ticket from Nigeria to the UK and a contribution towards living expenses only*.
