2018 Lagos State Postgraduate Scholarship

The Lagos State Scholarship Board is the agency in charge of scholarship, bursary and other related matters within the state. It grants Scholarship awards to deserving indigenes in various tertiary institutions for full time studies in order to assist these students financially.

Process for Eligibility for Local Postgraduate Scholarship Award 
This scholarship scheme is for Lagos State indigenes only studying in any tertiary institution across the country.
  • All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for postgraduate studies (Masters or Doctorate).
  • All Post-graduate applicants:
    • Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he /she must have graduated with a minimum of 4.9/7.0 at undergraduate level
    • Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he /she must have graduated a minimum of 3.5/5.0 at undergraduate level
  •  All applicants must be in their first year or above
  • All applicants must have completed LASRRA Registration
  • All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba
  • All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government
  • All applicants must purchase a Scholarship application form. (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship) through the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Block 5, 3rd Floor, Alausa Secretariat.
  • All applicants must upload clear scanned copies of all documents to ascertain the genuineness of their claims. Documents like:
    • Admission Letter
    • Valid ID Card
    • Letter of identification from Oba
    • Letter of identification from Local Government
    • SSCE result
    • Lagos State Resident Registration Agency(LASSRA) registration card
    • Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months).
    • Certificate or Result statement from school stating graduating results clearly
    • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
    • Master’s Degree Certificate ( PHD applicants only)
  • Shortlisted applicant must participate in a Computer Based Test conducted by Dragnet Solutions Limited in conjunction with Lagos State Scholarship Board.
Please Take Note:
  • Applicant must be a Lagos State Indigene studying in any tertiary institutions across the country
  • All applicants are required to make a Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship through the Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board.
  • Then take the receipt to the Lagos State Scholarship Board to secure their secret voucher pins for online application. Application will not be processed without evidence of consolidated payment confirmation slip.

Application Procedure
  • Before you start this application, ensure you have purchased a Scholarship application form (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship) through the Office of Special Adviser on Education, Block 5, 3rd Floor, Alausa Secretariat then secure your Voucher pin from the Scholarship Board office. Thereafter, have clear scanned copies of the following documents:
    • Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
    • Treasury receipt of N2,000 for the scholarship form
    • Admission Letter
    • Valid Identity Card
    • SSCE certificate
    • Letter of identification from Oba
    • Letter of identification from Local Government
    • LASSRA Registration card
    • Certificate or Result statement from school stating graduating results clearly
    • Evidence of Consolidated Payment Confirmation
  • Ensure that information are filled accurately to avoid mix up after application
  • Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents during upload
  • Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload

Before Applying Please Read
Applicant must be a Lagos State Indigene studying in any tertiary institutions across the country
All applicants are required to make a Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship through the Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board.
Then take the payconfirmation receipt to the Lagos State Scholarship Board to secure their secret voucher pins for online application. Application will not be processed without evidence of consolidated payment confirmation slip.

Ensure you correctly fill in the application form and click on "Apply Now" button to complete your application.
Applications will be done through this portal only, hard copy applications will not be processed.

Short-listed candidates for the qualifying test will be invited by email and SMS text messages. All applicants are therefore advised to ensure that valid GSM telephone numbers and personal email addresses are properly entered into the e-forms on the portal.

PROCESS FOR ELIGIBILITY FOR LOCAL UNDER-GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD.
THIS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME IS FOR LAGOS STATE INDIGENES ONLY STUDYING IN ANY TERTIARY INSTITUTION ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

1.      All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution. 
2.      All Under-graduate applicants:
i.       Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he /she must possess a minimum of 4.9/7.0
ii.      Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he /she must possess a minimum of 3.5/5.0
iii.     Where CGPA scale is 4.0 (e.g polytechnics and colleges of education) he /she must possess a

iv.     Where applicant is a medical student in 200L,  option i, ii and iii applies
v.      Where applicant is a medical student in 300L and above a minimum of Credit is required in their
result

3.      All applicants must be in their second year or above (i.e admitted on or before 2015/2016 academic session).

4.      All applicants must have completed LASRRA Registration

5.      All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba

6.      All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government
7.      All applicants must purchase a Scholarship application form. (Payment of N2,000.00 for Local Scholarship) through Revenue Office of the Lagos State Scholarship Board. 

8.      All applicants must upload clear scanned copies of all documents to ascertain the genuineness of
their claims. Documents like:   
i.       Admission Letter
ii.      School Identity Card or Valid means of school identification
iii.     Letter of identification from Oba
iv.     Letter of identification from Local Government 
                                                         
v.     SSCE result
vi.     Lagos State Resident Registration Agency(LASSRA) registration card                                                      
vii.     Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three
months).                                                            
viii.    Transcript or Result statement duly signed and stamped from school stating previous session CGPA results clearly
ix.      Evidence of Consolidated Payment Confirmation Slip.

9.      Shortlisted  applicant must participate in a Computer Based Test conducted by Dragnet Solutions Limited in
conjunction with Lagos State Scholarship Board.
10.    Successful tested applicants will be contacted for oral interview

2017/2018 Total/NNPC National Merit Scholarship

Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI) – Annually, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria (TUCN): Total Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited (Total E&P Nig Ltd) and Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), together with their venture partners, award scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in the tertiary institutions in the country.

Title:  Total/NNPC National Merit Scholarship Scheme 2017/2018

Description
The programme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and quality manpower development in the Country. This is one of the many ways TOTAL demonstrates its commitment to the educational development of Nigerian students. It is a part of NNPC/TOTAL’s rich Corporate Social Responsibility.This scholarship scheme has been successfully carried out over the years. The 2017/2018 is due and this web portal is dedicated to receiving applications from eligible Nigerian undergraduates.

Eligibility

To qualify for consideration, the applicant MUST:
  • Be a Registered FULL TIME undergraduate in a recognized Nigerian University
  • Be a certified 100 or 200 level student at the time of application
  • Show proof of Admission letter from the University and Matriculation Number
  • Show proof of A-level or Equivalent Certificate (for direct entry students)
  • Show proof of SSCE or Equivalent Certificate.
  • Show proof of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) score.
IMPORTANT:
  • Students with less than 200 score in UTME need not apply
  • Students with less than 2.50 CGPA of 5-point scale, or equivalent
  • 300 level students and above need not apply
  • Current beneficiaries of similar awards from the oil industry need not apply

Application Steps
  • Personal Information: Enter your name, date of birth and permanent home address Upload your recent passport photograph.
  • Contact Information: Enter your email and mobile phone information. Only use an active email and mobile phone number.
  • Origin: Enter your state and local government of origin data. You are required to upload a certificate or proof of origin from your local government or state.
  • University Information: Select your university, course and year of study. You will be required to upload your JAMB/University admission letter.
  • Result Information: Input your JAMB score or CPGA. You are required to upload your JAMB statement of result and university CPGA. For year two medical students, your JAMB score suffices.
  • Review Application: Review your application ensure all fields have been correctly entered. Upload all the documents required:
    • Recent Passport Photograph
    • Certificate or Proof of Origin
    • Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE)
    • UTME result
    • JAMB/University Admission Letter
    • 1st Year Result showing CGPA
  • Conclusion: Attest that all info given is true. Accept terms and condition. On screen alert will confirm that you have successfully completed the application. You will receive an email to confirm this too.
General Information
  •  Scholarship Application Deadline: October 31, 2017
  • Selection tests will hold on December 2, 2017 at designated centers nationwide which will be communicated to shortlisted candidates only.
  • Candidates will fully bear the cost transportation to test venue as no reimbursement shall be made.
  • Candidates are therefore advised to choose a test center closest to them.
